Welcome to the Southwestern Entertainment and Media Law LL.M. Online Program.

Southwestern offers a fully active LL.M. program online.  The Southwestern learning management system (LMS), developed and supported through our association with Kaplan Legal Education, supports all the functions and interaction you expect to find in a law school.  The advantage of Southwestern Online is that the front door to our law school is wherever you and your Internet connection come together.

As an Entertainment and Media Law LL.M. online student, you receive a personalized home page on the Southwestern school site.  From there, students connect with all of the people, services, and administrative offices in Southwestern’s virtual hallways.  This home page provides an introduction to the LMS.  Take a self-guided tour by reviewing the site navigation on the left.  When you click on “Courses,” you will find sample modules from a suite of our Entertainment and Media Law LL.M. online course offerings:

Copyright Law taught by Professor Robert C. Lind.  Professor Lind, a former semi-professional musician, combined his interest in the arts and law to become an expert in several aspects of entertainment, media, and intellectual property law. A prolific writer, he is the author or co-author of widely used casebooks, treatises and study guides on entertainment law, art law, museum law, and media law, as well as copyright and trademark

Motion Picture Production Law taught by Professor Neil Ollivierra, the Director of Business and Legal Affairs at Lionsgate Entertainment, where his responsibilities include negotiating, drafting, and amending a wide variety of development and production agreements.

Internet & E-Commerce Law taught by Professor Michael D. Scott, with over 30 years of legal experience representing high-technology clients and an extensive background in computer technology, Professor Scott is considered a "pioneer" in the field of high-technology law and public policy.

Southwestern Law School, in its historic building on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, has a long history of involvement with the entertainment and media industries. Through its Biederman Entertainment and Media Law Institute, it was the first law school to establish an LL.M. in Entertainment and Media Law.  Today our LL.M. online program takes advantage of those resources and expertise to bring them to you wherever you are in the world. We look forward to you taking a look around virtual environment and, as you have questions, please feel free to email onlinellm@swlaw.edu.
